The Three Most Powerful Forces In Business — and how to ensure you’re maximizing them
There’s a reason we all love that line, “May the force be with you.”
It doesn’t much matter what your religious views are…if you weren’t feeling it when someone turned to you at the church wedding you were at last weekend and said, “May God be with you,” it’s still quite possible that you’d not shy away from telling someone, “May the force be with you.”
Because here’s the thing: I believe it is in our DNA — deep in our cellular memory — to believe in Power(s) outside of ourselves.
From the stories of old, we know that the Greeks had their gods and goddesses, the Romans had theirs, and the powerful stories in the Clan of the Cavebear series certainly lead us all to believe that even “back then,” before we had words, we had belief in Power(s), Forces, if you will, that “made things happen,” and gave explanations to that which was, and sometimes still is, inexplicable.
We new-agers reference The Universe. The Star Wars fanatics call it The Force. Some call it God. Others, Goddess. The names are endless.
But what I am loving about all of the shift that is occurring in and around us now is that we are coming to understand that these Powers That Be are not simply outside of ourselves, but within us as well. And that’s a pretty exciting movement to witness.
With that in mind, I think it’s time to talk openly about what I believe are the three most powerful Forces at work in your business. Knowing that they are there is the first step…working with them comes next…
Several years ago when I studied business intuition with Lori Wilson, this concept bonked me on the head: There are forces at work within our businesses that we can’t always see, that we can’t always get a handle on…but they are there…and they are impacting us. Every. Single. Day.
Now in my work over the years, I’ve come to see that there are many powers at play (indeed it is my job to discover what each of them are for my clients…and to figure out what their impact is…and how to navigate that…), but today I want to focus on what I call The Big Three: Your Clients, Your Self, and Your Business Proper.
The Big Three each impact one another, and together, create an alchemical Whole that IS the essence of business, as far as I can see it.
Your Clients are the people who have (and will) purchase from you. Their behaviour patterns, moods, socio-economic statuses, ages, genders, habits, and ways of looking at the world around them will all impact their purchasing behaviour, and the ways in which they interact with your brand. Will they simply read your posts and click “LIKE” or will they actually buy? Will they invest $400 or $4000 to work with you? Is it in their nature to come and see you once or are they going to be “lifers?”
Your Very Own Self is its own force within the business. Your own behaviour patterns, mood, socio-economic status (and views about money), age, gender, habits, and ways of looking at the world around you will impact the way that you DO business, the way that you show up, the way that you conduct an introductory call or speak at an event. Will you consistently reach out for new clients? Will you commit to your business in a deep and meaningful way (or treat it like a hobby?) Will you even consider pricing you services at $4000 or will you simply tell yourself that no one would pay that much anyways? Is it in your nature to want to have your clients just come once, or are you actually looking for long-term relationships with your clients?
And then there’s Your Business Proper. Now, this one may be a bit harder to imagine but work with me here…Everything has an energy to it: Rocks, trees, rivers, pieces of wood, water, seashells, raccoons…EVERYTHING has energy, and so, too, does Your Business. Once we accept that, and it’s really not that far of a stretch for a homeopath (!), then we can see that the energy of the Business Proper can totally and completely impact our outcomes. Is our business built in such a way that it reflects our own behaviours and patterns, our own ways of looking at the world? Does it reflect that of our clients? Are the systems and processes within our business, our finances, our schedules, in order such that we even CAN serve our clients? Or are we limiting ourselves with bits and bobs of business laying all willy-nilly about the floor? Is the energy of your business — the power of it — enabling you to build, or is it causing you to falter?
These Big Three forces at work in every business come together to create the alchemical Whole that is the Essence of Your Business. And here’s where it gets really interesting…
If the Big Three are in alignment with one another…then things are going to be peachy-keen.
And if they aren’t?
Then those Forces That Be are going to fight against one another in ways that create chaos, unhappiness, dissatisfaction, and, eventually, loss (of funds, of energy, of clients, of enthusiasm, of success).
We all know that two sound waves that are similar in wavelength that come together raise one another up and create a higher vibrational pattern, and the sound is harmonious.
Two sound waves that are dissimilar that come together create nothing but a racket.
So with that in mind, you get the idea. The Big Three forces in your business need to be aligned…similar in frequency…such that your business is in harmony.
The real “Magic” of business is no different than the “magic” of homeopathy. There must be resonance – similarity — such that everything and everyone can come together and achieve what Hahnemann suggests is the greatest goal in homeopathic treatment: reaching our fullest potential in life.
When these Three Big Forces in business are resonating with a similar frequency, you, your clients, and your business will also all reach their fullest potential.
Now, just how the heck do you DO that? We can’t just give our business a dose of its constitutional remedy? (OR can we? That’s another blog post altogether!)
But first things first…
Before we go any further down this rabbit hole, I invite you to take some time to ponder the concept that there are forces at work within your business. Give some thought to your clients…and to your self…and to your business proper. Do they seem to line up? Or are there some glitches?
Do you find yourself exhausted by the end of the day no matter how busy your schedule?
Are your sales where they should be?
Do you feel good about where you’re practicing and the money you’re earning (and spending)?
Or maybe you’ve a new team member that seemed to be a good fit at first…but now your questioning your choice.
Write these things down — it’s time to draw attention to them. These are symptoms of disharmony, misalignment. And they can be corrected. But first we need to know that they are there.
And then ponder the root cause of these “symptoms.” Put on your homeopath’s hat. Could there be “one thing” that underlies all of these “trouble spots” in your practice? Is there an exciting cause? What about contributing factors that may be at play?
And if you’d like to take this investigation one step further, and discover some of the ways that you can bring things in your business back into resonance in order to eliminate the need for these symptoms of distress, I invite you to watch a free video tutorial I created. I suspect that the homeopath in you will enjoy it immensely!
